About the Artist:

Mic Rogers is a multimedia artist from New Mexico.  He got his degree in Studio Arts from Georgia State University’s Welch School of the Arts.  He is known for his abstract gestural means and experimental applications of media consisting of bold color combinations.

Formations Series I is a limited edition series of photographs of gestural paintings.  Each piece was conceived using a very meticulous and intense manner of blowing the wet medium of acrylic paint over a specially primed glass surface. This blowing method creates phenomenal marks and signatures that are made to blend, contrast and create hyper juxtapositions within the piece.  The sizes of the photographs vary and start at 40 inches and expand up to 8 feet.  Scale is used to magnify the works’ bold colors and play on viewers’ perceptions.  Each work of the Formations Series is limited to a single edition of 10 prints.

“I am not trying to define or dissect nature, only recreate that which cannot be explained but only felt through experience.” – Mic Rogers
